Standard Grey’s “Strains Fake Maps and Dissolving Cynicism” feels like a journey through an otherworldly antique shop, with carefully chosen artifacts, weird curios, and glittering treasures filling the shelves. SG guides us through this dimly lit, alien space with his staggering collection of raw and processed field recordings; soft, undulating drones; and ghostly synth lines that seem to fade even as they appear.
Field recordings, electromagnetic
pickups, pedals & granular synthesis

A set of mystery sounds - perhaps: consumer detritus, perhaps broken radios on a feedback loop, perhaps two organs in an echo chamber, perhaps 20 years worth of dust or perhaps an installation in the corner of the gallery: pairings of delicate mechanical objects left to their own devices whirring away indifferent to passersby or any human presence for that matter, perhaps a numbers station outfoxing another numbers station, perhaps messages intended expressly for you and how lucky you are to chance upon them.
